This weeks Celebrations: A time for renewal, rebirth and new beginnings
The arrival of beautiful blossoms and lush greenery wouldn’t be the same without the memory of the long, dark and gray winter.
So too the celebrations of Easter and Passover are dependent on the dark months before this special time. This year, the observances of the Christian and Jewish holidays are in line, emphasizing connections to the seasonal renewal.
This past Sunday, Palm Sunday, marked the beginning of the Christian Holy Week.
As the sun sets another rite begins in Jewish households with Sedar dinner in observance of the first night of Passover.
As many Christians return home for Easter, so too do many in the Jewish community for Passover.
A little history:
The word Easter is from the Greek word pascha (derived from the Hebrew word pesach). And it refers to the Passover story.
Rejoice in the opportunities that come to you this week.
Easter and Passover are about renewal and unity!
Find some time this week to spend with family and friends and don’t let this special time Pass you Over!
